Are You Both a Teacher and a Parent?

It’s possible that you are a teacher and also a parent at a school that uses Ziber. In that case, you can log in to Ziber Team (as a teacher) and Kwieb (as a parent) with the same Ziber ID (account). However, we do not recommend using the same account for both roles.

We advise using:

  • Your school email address for your Ziber Team account

  • Your personal email address for your Kwieb parent account

Side Effects of Using the Same Ziber ID for Ziber Team and Kwieb

Using one Ziber ID for both roles may cause several confusing issues:

  • Role Management: Your profile will display roles like “Teacher of…” and “Parent of…”, which can be unclear when a parent tries to contact you.

  • Privacy Settings: As a teacher, you may want to share different information than you would as a parent. Privacy settings are account-based, which may lead to unexpected behavior.

  • Topics: In Kwieb, parents won’t be able to start Topics with you—your name appears greyed out. Since Topics are linked to your Ziber ID, messages from Ziber Team also show up in Kwieb, which can be confusing if you expect only parent conversations there.

  • Do Not Disturb: If you enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ in Ziber Team, you won’t receive notifications in Kwieb either, as this setting applies to your entire Ziber ID.

How to Avoid These Issues

To avoid the above complications, create two separate Ziber IDs:

  • Use your school email address for Ziber Team

  • Use your personal email address for Kwieb

How to Split One Account Into Two

If you currently use one Ziber ID for both apps, follow these steps to separate them:

  1. Open the Kwieb app.

  2. Log out via your profile.

  3. Restart Kwieb and create a new account using your personal email address.

  4. Email support@ziber.eu from your school email address with the following:

    • Subject: “Kwieb account transfer”

    • The email address you used previously for Kwieb (old account)

    • The new email address you want to use for Kwieb (new account)

We’ll update your Kwieb data accordingly and confirm the changes by email.
