Starting a Topic with a Parent
Topics allow you to start a chat-style conversation with a parent. You can exchange short messages on a specific subject initiated either by you or the parent.
Starting a New Topic
You can start a conversation with a parent from the Dashboard in the Ziber Team app, or by tapping the large plus (+) button in the menu.
Select a Parent (or Team Member)
When starting a new Topic, you’ll see a list of parents. You can also choose to start a Topic with another school team member. Use the “Everyone” button to see all available contacts—parents and staff.
Set a Subject & Message
First, enter a subject for the conversation. Then type your message in the input field.
💡 Tip: You can enter up to 4,000 characters in the message.
Sending the Topic
Once you send the Topic, the parent will receive a notification. In Kwieb, parents can choose how they’re notified—via email and/or push notification.
Receiving a Reply
When the parent replies, you’ll get a notification in the Ziber Team app. Tap the message to open and respond directly.
Sending Attachments
After starting the Topic, you can also send attachments (e.g., photos or documents).
⚠️ You must first provide a subject and message to create the conversation before sending an attachment.
Read Indicators
Your school or childcare organization can choose whether read receipts (check marks for read messages) are enabled. This setting can be managed by the administration or management via the Topics settings.
Not Receiving Topic Notifications?
If you're not receiving alerts for new or updated Topics, make sure:
You have the Ziber Team app installed on your phone
Push notifications are enabled
Do Not Disturb is not turned on
