Creating a Newsletter
This article explains how to create and send a newsletter from the Ziber dashboard, including selecting content, previewing, and choosing your audience.

When to Use a Newsletter
When your school or child center uses the Kwieb parent app, you'll notice that teachers and parents increasingly communicate in the moment. Parents are often aware of what’s happening in their child's group, and school leaders frequently share updates directly via Kwieb—replacing traditional newsletters.
However, many schools still like to use a newsletter to provide parents with a complete overview of recent school-wide events and upcoming activities. Newsletters are also ideal for informing prospective parents, local community members, and family or friends about what's happening at school.
How to Create a Newsletter
1. Open the Newsletter Tool
- Go to the Dashboard
- Choose Newsletters from the left-hand menu
2. Add a Title & Introduction
- Title (required): e.g., "Newsletter Week 23"
- Introduction text (optional): This text appears at the top of the newsletter. Leave this blank if you only want to include existing posts and events.
3. Select Posts & Activities
- Check the boxes for any posts and/or activities previously published on your website.
- These items will be automatically included in the email newsletter.
Previewing the Newsletter
- At any time, you can preview your newsletter:Scroll to the bottom of the pageSelect a layoutClick the magnifying glass icon 🔍 to preview
💡 You’ll be prompted to save your newsletter before previewing—click “Yes”.
Your newsletter will appear with your school’s branding (colors, header, footer, etc.) as set by your web designer. Want a different style? Contact your designer.
Happy with the result? Continue to send your newsletter.
Selecting a Target Audience
You can send your email newsletter to two types of recipients:
1. Parents via Kwieb
(Only available if your school uses the Kwieb app)
- Choose specific groups, the entire school, or individual children
- The newsletter will reach the selected children's parents/guardians
2. Newsletter Groups
(Only available if your school uses a Ziber website)
- Choose from custom groups created on your website
- These lists include subscribers who opted in via your website (often anonymous)
Sending the Newsletter
Before sending:
- Click Send test email to receive a preview in your inbox
- Review for any issues (spelling, formatting, layout)
When ready:
- Click Send
- Ziber will automatically deliver the newsletter to your selected recipients
Best Practices
- Keep it concise: Use clear titles and summaries for each item
- Update frequently: Send newsletters regularly to maintain engagement
- Personalize: Tailor the audience to ensure relevance
