Overview of How Notifications Work in Ziber Team and Kwieb

When a parent receives a new message from the school team in the Kwieb parent app, they receive a notification. This article explains how that notification is generated and through which channels it is delivered.

Step 1: A new message is sent to parents

The school team sends a new message (e.g., a news post, activity, photo, or poll) from the Ziber Team app or via the desktop at team.ziber.eu. The message is sent to one or more selected groups.

Step 2: Parents receive the message in the Kwieb app

All parents who are members of the selected groups will see the new message in their timeline in the Kwieb app.

Step 3: A notification is sent to the parents

If a message is important or requires action from the parent, a notification is sent. This can happen in three ways:

Notification settings per parent

Parents can manage how they receive notifications via their personal settings in the Kwieb app:

If a parent disables both options, they will still see the message in the timeline but will not receive an active notification.

Message importance

Some messages are marked as important or time-sensitive by the school team. These messages can override a parent’s personal notification settings and are sent with a mandatory notification.
